A Playful Paint Maternity and Family Shoot at Santa Susana Park in Simi Valley
When this family posted on Facebook about looking for a photographer who wanted to do a maternity shoot in this style, I leapt at the opportunity. What a fun concept! I love finding things that help people break out of their shells, and that give people the feeling of permission (they always have permission!) to not look at the camera.
Joyous Family Shoot at Woodley Park in Van Nuys
This family is just… cool. You know what I mean? They all exude cool. Even the toddler!
I loved taking photos of this joyful, loving family at Woodley Park. And I loved how they dressed! I truly felt their personalities came through and that they didn’t just do what was trendy and popular for family photos.

Puppies Galore
A dear friend of mine recently took in a pregnant dog and then served as her doula, bringing these wonderful puppies into the world. Before the puppies all went off to their forever homes (mama found a forever home with my friend!), we did a session in her home to capture this moment in time for her.
Mommy & Me Date Session, Selfie-Style
Recently, I took my daughter on a date to get one-on-one time, and told her she could pick whatever she wanted to do. Imagine my surprise (and emotions!) when she suggested that we do a shoot together, with her bringing her own camera. I even let her snap some shots on my camera (nervously and carefully). She chose our outfits and the location, and even directed me. It was amazing. Behold, the results!
A Playful Family Session at Playa Del Rey Beach
What a pretty beach, what a sweet family, what a dreamy shoot! This family really wanted to make sure that we captured them as they are — playful, natural, loving. Not just looking at the camera and smiling (but some of those, too!). I decided to approach it with a mentality, almost, of games.
Glowy, Romantic Maternity Session at Pasadena City Hall
I don’t know what’s glowier — my stunning pregnant friend, or the light on this day at Pasadena City Hall. Either way, this shoot goes down in the books as one of my favorites, ever. What a dream!!!
Large Family Session at Tree People in Studio City / Beverly Hills
I was so excited when this family wanted to shoot with me, because I’d never done a family session with this many kids before — especially including kids in their teens! And twins! And it was a pregnancy announcement for more kiddos (yes, kiddos, plural) to join the party!
I had so much fun doing this, especially with the range of personalities that everyone brought to the table.
And the location, Tree People — which was new to me at the time — was awesome. So awesome that I’m heading back there for one of my upcoming Fall Mini Sessions this year!
Family and Pregnancy Announcement Session at Wildwood Canyon Park in Burbank
I love reconnecting with people through photography! One of the great joys of pursuing this passion has been that people that I haven’t seen in a while reach out for photos, and I get to catch up with them while I capture their milestones.
This sweet, beautiful family had a new pregnancy to announce, and wanted to highlight their firstborn in the photos. I think they’re just adorable.
And this location was new to me at the time, but had such pretty details. I’m excited to use it for one of my upcoming Fall Mini Session locations!
Bright and Colorful Family Session at Desiderio Neighborhood Park in Pasadena
I took these photos almost a whole year ago in Desiderio Neighborhood Park in Pasadena, but I still use them often because I love how utterly joyful the family was together. I also love their bright, playful outfits!
This was one of those shoots that was full of personality. One of the best tips I can give you for your own photos is to bring your personalities. Smiling at the camera is nice, but truly capturing who you are is nicer. :)
I also love this location, which is full of glowy light and stunning architecture. Desiderio Neighborhood Park is one of my upcoming Fall Mini Session locations this year!
Family Session with a Baby at Woodley Park in Van Nuys
I took these photos a year ago and still think about how pretty, rich, and Fall it felt. I shoot at Woodley so often, but this shoot, with the rich colors and cozy sweaters, stood out to me.
Side note — Woodley Park is one of my locations for my Fall Mini Sessions this year!
And, like, look at the cheeks on this baby. They’re magical!
Family Session at Brand Library in Glendale
The mom of this family is a friend of mine and a colleague in my primary career as a TV executive. And just like her, the rest of her family here were full of personality, hilarious, and a joy to be around.
Brand Library is such a gorgeous location at which to take photographs, with both stunning architecture and tropical views of palm trees. I’m so excited to do one of my Fall Mini Session days there.
She was kidding, I promise!
Midday Family Session in Johnny Carson Park
I used to be scared of a midday session (the light can be hard!), but I’ve recently realized how beautiful it can be if you know what you’re doing.
This gorgeous family had but one request: one photo in which they all looked good. What do you think? Did we do it?

Preschool Graduation Photo Session
My adorable eldest recently graduated from preschool, so naturally, I wanted to capture the moment. Here’s what we snapped before I cried ugly tears when she and her classmates sang adorable songs about saying goodbye.
Dreamy Maternity Session at Woodley Park in Van Nuys
Sometimes, both your subject and location show up to just give a certain little something special that makes your shoot feel… chef’s kiss. I loved editing this session, which felt dreamier with each image.
Fall Family Session at Griffith Park
Last autumn, I had planned a session with a family at the Griffith Observatory, only for there to be an event there that made parking… impossible.
Fortunately, the family I was working with was so cool, it didn’t matter, and we were able to pivot. Just as fortunately, we were able to find a beautiful location that just screamed Fall — even here in Los Angeles!

Extended Family Session in Burbank
Recently, our entire extended family on my husband’s side was able to visit us here in Los Angeles all at once — the first time we were all together for more than a few hours, ever! It’s hard to live across the country from our family, but it was such a beautiful experience to photograph everyone — especially the kids and grandparents — together.
Family Photo Sessions with Teenagers
Family photos with little kids? No problem. They love to be cute! But with teenagers who (sometimes) don’t want to be there? It’s a whole different ballgame. But I love working with people to make them feel comfortable, and so far, the teenagers I’ve worked with have been nothing short of models.
